CURTAIN WALLING

Peak's curtain wall options offer a proven, cost effective solution for low, mid and high rise applications. Developed to provide a high quality answer to many fenestration requirements, these offer total flexibility in specification.

Appearance

The curtain walling can be either single or double glazed for improved thermal and acoustic performance. The systems offer a range of mullion depths to cater for differing structural conditions. A range of door and window inserts are available as well as complementary sections for sloped glazing and a range of external caps to vary the finished appearance.

Construction

Our curtain walling options consist of either a box or box and plate format for factory frame assembly using mechanical methods at butt joints. Assembly uses stainless steel or plated self tapping screws into either cleat blocks or integral screw ports extruded into the body of the sections, directly through square cut adjoining component parts.

Vertical sections are designed to run through. This enables individual panels to be made separately, easing the problems associated with handling and transporting large or multi-panel frames when fully assembled. The system may be glazed using dual gaskets or a combination of tape and gasket to suit individual performance requirements.

Performance

Our curtain walling products are thermally broken and compartment drained which offers performance characteristics in line with the highest requirements of the industry. When tested in accordance with the procedures laid down in BS5368: Parts 1, 2 & 3, the product achieved the following classification for weather resistance as defined in BS6375: 1989. Air permeability, 600Pa. Watertightness, 600 Pa. Wind resistance, 2400Pa.

Glazing

The various curtain walling options are designed to accomodate various glazing options from 6 to 10mm for single glazing and up to 34mm for double glazing. Glazing must satisfy safety recommendations and withstand the calculated design wind pressure for different types of location. All glazing must comply with BS6262 and BS952: Part1.

Finishes

All Peak curtain wall systems are available in a full range of polyester powder or anodised finishes.

  • Stoved polyester powder coated in accordance with BS6496, available in a large range of single RAL colours
  • Self colour or Anolok anodised in accordance with BS EN 12373 and BS 3987
